Labor Day was celebrated all over Texas, and the state AFL-CIO reported that the crowds were uncommonly big and enthusiastic. Jim McCasland, principal officer of the Dallas Central Labor Council, announced that our Labor Day breakfast was the largest ever. Most of the progressive candidates in the county were there.

State AFL-CIO President Emmett Sheppard shared the podium with outstanding Texas political leaders such as Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson and Congressman Martin Frost.
